Our Pastor is Mike Scanlan. Mike and his wife Grace were called by the Lord to serve in Susanville in November 2007.
Mike served as Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Valley Springs for 7 years. Mike also served as the Construction Coordinator and Camp Host for Calvary Chapel Relief in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi during part of the relief efforts following hurricane Katrina. Prior to that Mike was a Police Officer in Southern California for 18 years, which is where he met Jesus.
Pastor Mike leads the men’s ministry, but he has lots of help from a number of men who can teach when needed, and also help to facilitate the men’s breakfasts and conferences in all kinds of practical ways.
The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy…
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
The men’s discipleship study focuses on being disciples of Jesus, being Godly husbands, fathers, and being the spiritual leaders God has called us to be.
We’re learning how to study the Bible inductively to get the most out of our personal studies with an eye on eventually discipling others.
